At Island, we believe every stone tells a story—of nature’s artistry, resilience, and timeless beauty. Our journey began with a simple mission: to bring people closer to nature through products that embody its essence.
In 2008, amidst the global financial crisis, Island Surfaces was founded by Island Stone India to supply handcrafted stone products to the discerning Western market. Faced with a pivotal decision, our founders chose independence over compromise, preserving the spirit of their vision.
By 2013, free from previous partnerships, we expanded our reach across the Americas and Australia. But in 2019, the pandemic reshaped our path. With export markets cooling, we turned our focus inward—toward India. Here, creativity thrived even as margins tightened. We embraced innovation, shifting from traditional mosaics to intricate stone engravings and precision designs.
To meet India’s pace of innovation, we invested in technology and talent. Our first CNC machine marked a new chapter. Today, fifteen machines hum in harmony, etching stories into marble, granite, and sandstone. Despite challenges—from labor shortages to design complexities—we trained, adapted, and persevered.
